During Hurricane Season, an Ounce of Prevention Could Lead to Significant Savings
The season for the NHL’s Carolina Hurricanes may have ended in May after falling to the New York Rangers in the playoffs, but a much more dangerous hurricane season begins this month—one that threatens lives and property, and increasingly, the solvency of insurers themselves.
With the election in mind and the Academy’s mission to serve the public and the U.S. actuarial profession, the Academy in 2024 will be highlighting several mega issues: Social Security, health care, artificial intelligence (AI), climate risk, cyber, and risk management.
